Looking back, it’s easy to see how the past 12 months went by so quickly. We’ve had a very busy year, best reflected in our full travel schedule. As the new year began, our focus was on reaching out to meet more of our customers and to introduce more people to our unique position in the lubrication marketplace. Nothing can replace meeting face-to-face, so we set out to do just that.
The year got off to a great start with the AED show in Florida, which opened doors for us to several “customer first” dealers to represent BEKA products. (More on that, below!) March kept us closer to home at the National Heavy Equipment Show in Mississauga, ON, where we always enjoy seeing so many of our Canadian friends.
The ISRI conference in April brought us some spectacular views from Vancouver’s PNE, which proved to be an outstanding venue. Attendance was not what everyone might have hoped but we enjoyed quality time with those who were able to make it and we look forward to seeing them again in Vegas in April. As members of the Empire State chapter, we’ll see more of our ISRI friends at local meetings through the year.
The Hard Hat Expo is a must-see show for us every April, bringing together all of the top OEMs in the construction industry as well as fleet and maintenance managers for all of New York’s leading contractors and district, county and state fleet managers.
Wind energy is a hot topic in many circles, which made for a good showing at last May’s American Wind Energy Association show. BEKA has offered a line of specialized systems for wind turbines for several years, and we continue to do a lot of work in this area.
The Global Petroleum Show in Calgary is a great showcase for new products and equipment for the oil & gas industry. This year’s event in June was very well attended, allowing us to shake hands with people from producing fields and exploration sites all over North America. June took us back to Florida for the annual Waste Expo to catch up with both equipment manufacturers and facility operators. Our new MATO line of professional-grade grease guns was especially well received at this show.
In November, the Agritechnica exhibition in Hanover, Germany, gave us a chance to exchange ideas with the technical gurus from the BEKA factory. The show drew huge crowds, and we were pleased to see so much interest in the Canadian and US pavilions. Meeting with suppliers and buyers there, we came home very excited by our prospects for growing the lubrication business for agricultural equipment.
Our travel plans for 2016 will be just as full. We will be back at many of the same shows again, and a special highlight will be joining forces again with the BEKA factory for the giant BAUMA exposition in Munich, April 11-17th.
Selling with service
As we mentioned at the top, the AED show led us to a number of new dealers who we are proud to welcome to our product lines. Their response to our service philosophy and capabilities has been personally gratifying to our own staff. Dealers tell us that we are easy to deal with and they appreciate how we stand behind every product with great service. Our time in the field has given us a first-hand understanding of the pressures on dealers to deliver quick response times along with good equipment. Our investment in dealer support helps their service departments to keep the customers coming back for new equipment. The ad we ran in the AED show guide said “Show Them Some Lube.” and that is exactly what happens when we bring on a new dealer! So, if you are a dealer and are planning to be at the AED meeting this year, please stop by our booth and begin the conversation. You will be glad you did.
Our program for raising industry awareness of our capabilities included two important projects in our marketing communications. Our new website launched to very favorable reviews in this past year and we also began publishing the quarterly RunTimes newsletter to cover interesting new applications and insights into our varied lubrication systems and products.
Doors open in Buffalo
Apart from our busy trade show itinerary, October gave us a chance to host a special event of our own! On October 28th, we officially opened our new facility in Buffalo, NY, with an open-house celebration. Visitors came by to share their experiences with BEKA products, to see some of our new additions, to see the line and to tour the facility.
The new location will serve us and our customers very well with easy access to highways and local airport. It also lets us expand our inventory and service area with 7,000 sq. ft. of warehouse and shop space.
Growing our line-up
This year saw our introduction of the new BEKAONE single-point lubricator – a simple solution for reliable and precise greasing for any existing lube point. BEKAONE units fit right into hard-to-access and hard-to-service lube points on almost any device that needs routine servicing such as motors, drives, bearings, conveyors, compressors, and chains. As our Product Manager, Dave McDougall, says, “It’s easy to forget an out-of-the-way service point. BEKAONE takes care of everyday servicing for you, so you can forget it without worry.”
BEKAONE sets up easily and operates independently for up to two years. Less than 3” in diameter, it fits into tight spaces with 4-ounces of lubricant. The reservoir can be refilled up to six times using just a grease gun.
For 2016, we will formally introduce the GIGA electric lubrication pump to North America. The GIGA units were previewed at ConExpo, introducing our first line of electrically powered pumps for central lubrication. With a complete range of sizes and pumping capacities from 3.0 to 12.5 cc/min, GIGA pumps can supply intelligent lubrication for single line, dual line, and progressive systems.

Sustainable energy is still a hot topic even with the recent plunge in oil prices. As the world continues to expand renewable resources, the one industry that is growing more than other sources of energy is wind generation. In the last year, wind supplied almost 5% of the total demand for electricity.
The potential for electricity generated through wind is much greater, as stated in a new report from the Department of Energy. As the industry expands to meet the growing demand, wind turbines must continue to evolve to improve their functionality. The report and a DOE vision for wind power states that taller turbines will be necessary to supply the power needed by U.S. consumers.
Beka-Max has been integrally involved in the wind turbine industry for years. The central lubrication systems we have designed continuously supply fresh lubricant to the connected lube points to prevent mechanical failure. BEKAWIND customized lubrication systems are adapted to each wind converter and its operating conditions.
Our systems supply all lubrication points of wind converters. These include blade bearings, generator bearings, yaw bearings, and drivepinions. To meet the various needs of wind turbines, we have developed three systems for accurately lubricating the necessary friction points.
BEKAWIND Single: Consisting of an electrical piston pump, 3 UE distributors with each 6 outlets, a pressure switch with manometer, and the necessary tubes and fittings, the system precisely lubricates 3 blade bearings and 6 lube points. It is controlled and monitored by the central controller of the wind converter and protected by a pressure relief valve with return flow to the reservoir.
BEKAWIND PRO: This progressive system consists of an electric pressure pump, a main distributor monitored by a proximity switch, 3 progressive distributors with 6 outlets, and fittings. The progressive distributors can be easily adapted to meet requirements for varying lube points and delivery rate. This system features safety with blocking control that indicates a malfunction while allowing the distributor to continue working.
BEKAWIND FLOW: This spray lubrication system can be used forthe automatic lubrications of all open toothings and friction points of wind converters. Lubricant is sprayed between the tooth faces, even during intermeshing. It allows the precise application of lubricant to the friction points preventing over-lubrication and pollution. Low lubricant consumption saves money and enables exact monitoring of lubricant use.
Wind will continue to be a major factor in generating electricity forthe future domestically and globally. As turbines get bigger and more powerful, our systems will continue to provide the necessary lubrication for proper functioning. Our reliable and durable systems are poised to deliver smooth and efficient operation on all types of wind turbines. Contact us today for further information.

Lubrication is an extremely important aspect of machinery maintenance, whether it is industrial, road, or off road equipment. Without proper lubrication, equipment will, literally, grind to a halt. To ensure that your equipment will run easier and longer, consider choosing a lubricant that is ideally suited to both manual and automatic lubrication systems. Being a leader in innovative lubrication systems, we are also the experts at offering products that will be of the greatest benefit to your equipment.
Utilizing Beka’s lubricating products along with our chisel paste for your hydraulic breaker application will ensure protection of your system and the necessary lubrication to keep equipment running smoothly.
Our Chisel Paste is superior to other hydraulic impact hammer grease products and offers lasting lubrication in tough conditions. Unlike others, our chisel paste maintains its lubricating properties in wet conditions.
This NLGI Class 2 Chisel Paste has a black appearance. It is an oil base product and the solid lubricant is made up of 2% copper flake and 10% solids. The thickener is a calcium sulfonate complex and is an ideal choice for of hydraulic breakers with its operating temperature range of -20 °C to 1100 °C (-4 °F to 2110 °F). This chisel paste is supplied in cartridges, buckets, or drums.
Use of this chisel paste in conjunction with our automatic lubrication system will help reduce maintenance and ensuring longer and more consistent lubrication for your hydraulic breaker to help keep your equipment running easier and longer by providing a consistent and accurate amount of paste for the application and protects against failure.
Safety is a hot topic in the food processing industry right now, and it seems that the topic encompasses safety on all levels; from product safety, to environmental safety, to the safety of employees at manufacturing companies around the world. In fact, on June 25th and 26th, food manufacturers will meet at the American Food Manufacturing and Safety Summit in Dallas, Texas – an event seemingly timed to coordinate with the National Safety Council’s National Safety Month in June.
But, as we all know, safety isn’t something that should only be recognized and considered one month out of the year. It is, or at least should be, a year-round top priority for all types of manufacturers, including food processors and food packaging manufacturers. In fact, these companies can enhance and celebrate safety all year long with the BEKA FoodLine Central Lubrication System. Using special dry lube technology, the BEKA FoodLine Central Lubrication Systems apply lubricant with accuracy and precision onto conveyors and machinery, guaranteeing safe, efficient and no-mess applications and operations.
The BEKA FoodLine program includes automatic lubricating systems for conveyors, packaging machines, labeling machines, washing machines and other machinery used in the food manufacturing and food packaging industries. There are five base packs in the BEKA FoodLine program: “Progressive for a single machine”, “ Progressive systems for the whole plant”, “Dual Line”, “Single Line”, Dry Belt System”.
Each type of BEKA FoodLine system provides and represents the optimum solution for a specific application, but all types of the BEKA FoodLine system offer the advantages of FoodLine Dry Lube Technology. Some of these advantages include:
- Instantly improved workplace safety, because floors and surfaces are dry – no slips or falls caused by wet surfaces!
- Reduced water consumption, so it’s safer for the environment
- Packaging isn’t damaged, eliminating or reducing loss-related costs
- Safer environment for food products because of the reduction of microbiology issues
- No corrosion issues, either
- No more soap and foam to worry about
- Smoother – and safer – operations, overall!
In addition to the BEKA FoodLine systems, all of the products and customized automatic lubrication solutions for industrial, road and off-road applications we provide are designed with top-of-mind safety. Also, BEKA’s commitment to safety extends beyond the products we offer. We, ourselves, take safety very seriously. On the job, when appropriate, our employees wear protective gear and follow strict safety standards at all times. This, of course, includes when we’re working with our customers and installing lubrication systems on site.

Heavy equipment of all types, all shapes and all sizes requires lubrication in order to operate properly. Grease and oil keep equipment parts and machinery moving – and business operations running smoothly. When it comes to investing in an automatic lubrication system for heavy equipment and machinery, however, it’s not unusual for some manufacturers to hesitate, especially at first. But, once they meet with our engineers and design team, they quickly discover how easy it is to work with us, and they learn about all the advantages they’ll get by installing an automatic lubrication system for their heavy equipment and machinery.
Whether it’s an injector system or a progressive distribution system, the automatic lubrication systems we design at BEKA offer precise lubrication to every service point. Our systems are effective on all sizes and all types of heavy equipment. Our designers look at each client’s unique needs independently. Then they custom-design and develop an automated lubrication system that meets those specific needs. Our automatic lubrication systems for heavy equipment feature:
• Precision engineering
• Consistent delivery, and
• Customizable configurations.
Additionally, if a client has budget-related concerns, an automatic lubrication system can be designed on a “graduated” basis, meaning it can be buil and enhanced in stages. This “graduated” approach works for all types of equipment, both smaller-sized and larger-sized, and all budgets, as well. By “graduated” approach, we mean the system can be built in stages. For instance, at first it’s installed with a single point of lubrication. Then pumps and lines extending to additional grease points can be added on later.
Speaking of add-ons, there are many options to choose from when designing or enhancing an automatic lubrication system: All types of pumps (Giga pumps, basic EP-1 pumps, hydraulic pumps); distribution lines; and a wide range of parts and products that can be added into an automated lubrication system that’s designed and customized for a client’s heavy equipment. To learn more about our automatic lubrication systems, take a look at our video, “BEKA-MAX Presents Automatic Lubrication Systems for Heavy Equipment” or call us at 888-862-7461. We’d be happy to tell you more!
This year marks the 45th anniversary of Earth Day. This modern environmental movement was first held on April 22, 1970 and ushered in many groundbreaking environmental laws for air and water protection, as well as bringing a heightened awareness to the importance of protecting the planet.
At Beka-Max we understand the importance of Earth Day and what it represents. We engineer our products to be environmentally friendly, as well as user friendly. Our premier automatic lubrication systems require less lubricant than manual systems and are designed to prevent lubricant from spilling and leaking.
Lubrication is a vital part of effective operation for all types of mechanical systems including trucks, heavy equipment, wind turbines, and manufacturing machinery. Many industries rely on automatic lubrication systems that provide safe, high-performance lubrication.
Manual lubrication systems are environmentally unfriendly for a number of reasons. In addition to using more lubricant, machinery and equipment that don’t have automatic grease lubrication systems have the potential to leak and contaminate the surrounding area.
In one instance a homeowner was left with a major grease spill and environmental hazard when a truck arrived to fill the swimming pool. The truck was not equipped with a grease lubrication system and grease ran out of the truck and onto the driveway. This system was not put together properly and, even with protective wood paneling laid over the driveway, the ground was still contaminated and required remediation.
Even when workers are extremely careful in greasing manual systems, grease is messy and has a tendency to fall onto the ground. An automatic lubrication system contains the grease within the system and is a superior method.
If an automatic lubrication system is not possible, we have developed a clean system grease gun for manual greasing applications. Lube-Shuttle® grease guns prevent grease from spilling and leaking onto machines, tools, and the floor. Shop surfaces and workers stay clean with leak-free construction of the Lube-Shuttle® grease gun.
It is our goal at Beka-Max to provide environmentally friendly automatic lubrication systems. Trouble-free systems increase component life while reducing repair costs. For technology that you can rely on, trust in the expert products and people at Beka-Max.
We all know that all types of industrial and manufacturing operations rely on machinery and equipment to keep things moving forward. Today, the U.S. economy relies heavily on the manufacturing sector to help foster an economic environment that is ripe with opportunities for growth, and it’s the “advanced industries” that are most responsible for boosting the economy right now. “Advanced industries power the national economy and their success is a prerequisite for building an opportunity economy in the United States,” according to recent research published by the Brookings Institution, a nonprofit public policy organization based in Washington, DC.
The same research report reveals that an industry is classified as an “advanced industry” when it meets both of the following criteria:
- R&D spending per worker must fall in the 80th percentile of industries or higher, exceeding $450 per worker.
- The share of workers in the industry whose occupations require a high degree of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) knowledge must exceed 21 percent – the national average of all workers.
According to the research, there are 50 industries listed as part of the “advanced industries sector,” including Commercial/Service Industry Machinery; Industrial Machinery; Agriculture; and Mining and Construction Machinery. These advanced industries and most (if not all) of the advanced industries, plus the other manufacturing industries outside of the “advanced” realm, rely on automatic lubrication systems for industrial, off-road and over-the-road applications.
BEKA Industrial provides manufacturers in all types of industries with central lubrication systems for a wide range of applications. These central lubrication systems include:
- Single-line lubrication systems
- Multi-line lubrication systems
- Dual-line and Progressive lubrication systems, and
- Oil recirculation systems and gear pumps.
Any of these lubrication systems can be customized for just about any type of industrial machinery and any type of industrial application. For instance, in the food industry, you’ll find our central lubrication systems helping to keep the machinery and operations running smoothing for bread-making businesses and other food processors.
Whatever the industry, advanced or not, automatic lubrication systems are keeping manufacturing operations running smoothly! Give us a call at 888-862-7461 if you’d like to learn more about how our central lubrication systems can be designed or customized for your manufacturing operations.
Like a lot of other industrial processes, machine and equipment lubrication can be messy if you’re not using the right type of equipment. Lubrication can be an expensive process, too, if you’re ending up with wasted, unusable grease that’s stuck inside the grease tube. There are also workplace safety factors that need to be considered, such as slippery and dangerous grease spills on the floor and work surfaces. It doesn’t have to be this way, though.
In the past, spills, leaks and extensive clean-up time were considered to be the norm by the technicians, mechanics and machine operators charged with completing the lubrication process. But, new ergonomically designed products available today can make the lubrication process economical, easy, cleaner and much safer overall. Specifically, we’re talking about our Lube-Shuttle grease gun system that’s designed to be easy-to-use and to keep grease spills and leaks away from machine and shop surfaces.
There are three Lube-Shuttle models to choose from: A pistol grip grease gun; an ergonomic grease gun with a side-lever design; and the easy-to-use battery-operated grease gun. Whichever type of Lube-Shuttle grease gun you choose to use, they all work with the screw-top, reusable cartridge tubes that are easily refilled and “shuttled” between the grease source and the grease gun.
Machine technicians and operators are finding that using the Lube-Shuttle grease guns is so easy they’re saying that they’re turning in there old style grease guns in favor of using the Lube- Shuttle greasing system by MATO. Lubrication experts recommend the Lube-Shuttle grease guns for any grease – from shop grease to chisel paste.
Being able to use all of the grease is a quick, efficient and clean way to lubricate, and it’s economical, as well, because you are using up all of the grease in the tube to lubricate your machine and not wasting it changing out a tube or wiping the grease off of your hands! For extra-savings on grease, you can purchase an in-shop refill station and refill your Lube Shuttle Tubes onsite!
To see a movie about how the Lube- Shuttle system works please visit our web site www.beka-lube.com and follow the links.
We’d also be happy to tell you more about how you can keep things clean and safe, and how you can work more efficiently using the Lube-Shuttle grease guns. Give us a call at 1-888-862-7461 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
